A Certified B-Corp

Laridae was first certified as a Certified B Corporation in 2018. B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Corp certification is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk.

Laridae was certified by the non-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. We’ve evaluated how our practices impact our employees, our community, the environment, and our clients.

What Does it Mean to be a “B Corp”?

Balancing Profit and Purpose

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

Taking Responsibility for Our Impact

The concept of a “B Corporation” was born out of the idea that society’s most challenging problems cannot be solved by government and non-profits alone, and that businesses can be used as a force for good.

By harnessing the power of business, B Corps use profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment.

The B Corp “Declaration of Independence”

The B Corp “Declaration of Independence” includes the following commitments, to which we subscribe:

  • That we must be the change we seek in the world.
  • That all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered.
  • That, through their products, practices, and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all.
  • To do so requires that we act with the understanding that we are each dependent upon another and thus responsible for each other and future generations.
