Community Learning Events for Non-Profits

Welcome to Laridae’s Community Learning Program!

In place of our former membership-based learning platform, The Pier, we now offer greater opportunity for you to learn with Laridae.

We know you’re busy! We now offer monthly courses on a rolling 12-month calendar, making it easier for you to plan ahead and make necessary arrangements to attend. Some Laridae Learning community courses are free, while others are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis that takes the pressure off making a yearly financial commitment.

Learning Event Format

Like all Laridae Learning experiences, these are hosted in an engaging format that enables participants to build community through active participation.

Two Types of Learning Events

All community learning sessions and workshops provide comprehensive stand-alone skills training for ad-hoc participants.

Three-Hour Deep Dive Learning Modules

These are three-hour online courses that are engaging, interactive and filled with practical exercises and group work. Instructors will lead a deep dive into a topic of immediate relevance to non-profit managers and leaders, such as Finance for Non-Finance Managers, Giving and Receiving Feedback, or Leading through Change. Deep Dives will be offered nearly every month.

One-Hour Booster Workshops

These are one-hour, hands-on sessions that enable participants to practice a specific skill learned in a Deep Dive – but which can also stand alone. For example, if the Deep Dive is on Finance, the Booster is on reading financial spreadsheets – a skill anyone would benefit from having. Boosters follow their corresponding Deep Dive by about three weeks.

A Continuous Learning Opportunity for Alumni

Our learning sessions and boosters are designed to supplement the material covered in Laridae’s Management Training and Leadership Development programs and, as such, make excellent “continuous learning” options for graduates.

In fact, alumni of these programs are eligible for a 25% price reduction on all Community Learning Events.
